Authorities are searching for a man who went missing from a boat traveling from southernmost Addu City to Male’ City.
The Maldives Police Service said they received reports of the incident on Monday night. The missing person, a Nepalese citizen named Raj Kumar, worked as a crew member of Sea Max boat. The police said the boat’s crew realized Raj Kumar was not aboard the vessel while the boat was en route, somewhere between Addu City and Fuvahmulah City, approximately eight miles off the coast of Fuvahmulah.
Confirming that the police are investigating the case, the police said the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) is actively searching the missing man.
