Finance Ministry seeks contractors to build 12,000 housing units across 57 islands
The Finance Ministry is seeking contractors for the construction of over 12,000 housing units across 57 islands in the Maldives.
According to the announcement, the projects will be awarded through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) and National Competitive Bidding (NCB) policies, in accordance with Chapter 10 of the Public Finance Act.
The housing units will be built in four categories based on the number of units per island:
Category 1: 50 housing units or fewer
Category 2: 51 – 150 housing units
Category 3: 200- 250 housing units
Category 4: More than 300 housing units
The Finance Ministry said procurement notices for contractors will be issued next month. The bidding process will be open to both national and international firms through a pre-qualification process.
