President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has invited New Zealand investors to invest in the Maldives’ Special Economic Zone.
The President extended the invitation during a meeting with New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister of Racing, Winston Peters, held on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
During the meeting, the President and the Deputy Prime Minister discussed areas of cooperation between the two countries, such as strengthening bilateral relations and trade. The two also discussed leveraging the Maldives’ strategic geographical position mutual benefit. Both leaders also emphasized the importance of the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa this October as a platform to address shared challenges on the international stage.
