The Maldives Zakat House has deposited MVR 5,000 as Zakat-al-Mal payments for every individual registered in the poverty registry.
This amount is an increase of MVR 1,000 compared to the amount deposited last year. In 2024, the Zakat Fund distributed MVR 4,000 to each person on the list. The total number of individuals currently registered on the list is 2,852.
According to the Zakat House, the Zakat Fund received MVR 13.2 million this year as Zakat al Mal compared to MVR 12.7 million last year. The highest amount of Fitr Zakat payments to date was also recorded this year.
