Visaam resigns as Registrar of Companies after 11 years

Maryam Visaam has resigned as Registrar of Companies after serving in the role for over a decade.
Visaam was appointed Registrar of Companies on January 28, 2014 by former President Abdulla Yameen. A reliable source confirmed to AVAS that she officially resigned rom the post on March 1. She has not disclosed the reason for her resignation.
Visaam holds a Masters degree in Business Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia, and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from the University of Northumbria, UK.
In addition to her tenure as Registrar of Companies, Visaam has also served as the Director General of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA).
