Proposals received to promote medical tourism in the Maldives

Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has revealed that the government is receiving proposals from foreign investors to establish a specialised hospital for medical tourism in the Maldives.
Speaking on a programme aired by the state media, Minister Nazim said some foreign investors have expressed interest in building a dedicated hospital for medical tourism in a resort setting. Proposals have also been received to develop hospitals with medical college components integrated into it, he said.
Minister Nazim said he would submit the proposals to the Economic Council. He expressed his wish to see medical tourism expand under efforts to diversify Maldives’ tourism.
