Private jet landings at VIA increases by eight percent

The number of private jets that landed at Maldives’ main international airport, Velana International Airport (VIA) has increased compared to last year.

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) said the number of jets arriving at VIA has increased by eight percent compared to the previous year. While 148 jets have arrived thus far this year, the amount was at 137 during the same period last year.

VIA has 68 slots for jet parking.

The current period is the busiest time of the year for VIA as it coincides with the tourism peak season.
