Pres Dr. Muizzu submits 13 names for tax appeal tribunal for parliamentary approval
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has forwarded the names of 13 candidates for the four vacant positions at the Tax Appeal Tribunal for the Parliament’s consideration and approval.
The list of nominees—all applicants for the post—was announced by the Secretary General of Parliament, Fathmath Niusha, and has been referred to the Judiciary Committee for review.
The candidates nominated for the Tax Appeal Tribunal are as follows:

The Parliament approved the removal of four members of the Tax Appeal Tribunal on August 19. The President, in accordance with the Parliament’s recommendation, dismissed the four members on August 26. The dismissed members included President Mohamed Munawwar Ali, Vice-President Hussain Zaidhaan Jaleel, and members Ahmed Ashraf and Khadeeja Naeem. Ismail Sajid, the only remaining member of the tribunal, raised the issue to the Judiciary Committee.
