Pres congratulates Laiba on historic triple gold win at Armenian Youth Open

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated Maldives’ rising badminton player, Laiba Ahmed Mahloof, for her outstanding achievement at the Armenian Youth Open.

Laiba won three gold medals in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles categories of the Youth Open Badminton Championship. This is the most significant victory by a Maldivian player in a single international tournament.

In his congratulatory message, the President said Laiba’s success in an international junior badminton tournament was a great honor for the Maldives. She is an example for every young athlete striving for a future in sports, he said.

“I wish Laiba more success and strength, and for her to continue on her path with courage and skill,” the President said.
