An investigation has been launched into threats made against prominent lawyer, Mahfoooz Saeed.
The threat was made on social media by a member of the public. The Maldives Police Service confirmed that the threat is being investigated but did not disclose further details.
Mahfooz was previously attacked in 2015, during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen. The case was investigated and four individuals were charged but none were convicted.
