Mohamed Waheed has been removed from the board of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) confirmed on Sunday.
While the PCB did not disclose the reason for the removal, it comes months after the entire HDC board was suspended due to a criminal investigation into a case where land plots under the Binveriya Scheme were allocated to more than one recipient. Authorities also imposed a travel ban on these individuals. However, the suspensions were later lifted.
