Maldivian adds fifth ATR aircraft to fleet

Maldivian, the national airline, has added a new ATR aircraft to its fleet.

The 46-seat ATR 600-42 aircraft arrived at Velana International Airport (VIA) on Saturday. Tourism Minister Thoriq Ibrahim, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) officials were present to welcome the plane when it landed at the airport.

Maldivian already has an expansive fleet of Dash-8 aircraft, seaplanes and an Airbus aircraft, in addition to four ATR aircrafts. The new addition is its fifth ATR aircraft.
