The population of the Maldives has now exceeded 600,000, according to the latest figures released by the central bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).
As per the September statistics, the population of the Maldives has reached 601,269, although no additional details were provided on the figure.
When the Maldives Bureau of Statistics conducted the 2022 census, the population was recorded as 452,495 in October that year. Of these, 355,331 were Maldivians, and 97,164 foreigners.
In comparison, the 2014 census recorded a population of 402,071, including 338,434 Maldivians and 63,637 foreigners.
