Maldives launches taxi ad campaign in Dubai to promote tourism

An advertising campaign has been launched in Dubai to promote Maldivian tourism using taxi advertisements around the Museum of the Future area.
The campaign was officially launched by Tourism Minister Thorig Ibrahim, who is currently in Dubai for the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) fair. Under the campaign, 100 taxis in Dubai will advertise the scenic visuals of the Maldives.
The adverts will use photos of players from the UK’s most successful football club, Liverpool FC, which recently partnered with the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) to promote Maldives tourism.
MMPRC’s Managing Director Ibrahim Shiury said the campaign will continue for a month, extending beyond the four-day Arabian Travel Market Fair.
“The Maldives’ branding on 100 taxis in an area where more than 4,600 exhibitors gather will significantly promote Maldives. Our aim during the ATM Fair is to attract attention to the Maldives and increase the number of tourists visiting the archipelago,” he said.
Earlier this year, during the ITB Fair in Berlin, Germany, 200 taxis featured Maldives branding to promote the Maldives.
