Maldives Immigration detains illegal immigrants in Male’
Maldives Immigration has taken several illegal immigrants in Maleβ City into custody after conducting raids on Saturday morning.
Acting on information from “Immigration Watch,” authorities conducted an operation at the Heenaamaage parking area, where 14 foreign nationals without work permits were detained. Additionally, eight more foreigners were detained after the City Council shared information about an accommodation block in Maafannu ward.
Since President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu assumed office, over 2,000 illegal immigrants have been deported as part of ongoing immigration operations. Several more are currently being held in immigration custody.
