Immigration launches monitoring program to prevent foreigner misconduct
Maldives Immigration has launched a new program to monitor public areas to prevent foreigner misconduct.
Immigration Friday said actions that are harmful to public interest have been recently observed in areas frequently visited by foreigners. Therefore, the Immigration’s Law Enforcement and Compliance Division’s officers will monitor these areas to prevent such actions, the agency said. The program will be conducted serially, and if any undocumented foreigners are identified during the efforts, action will be taken against them, they added.
Immigration has been undertaking extensive efforts to ensure that foreigners residing in the Maldives are present according to rules and regulations and possesses valid visas.
