Henveiru Ferry Terminal now open to private ferry services

The Henveiru Ferry Terminal has been opened for private ferry service providers. The terminal was opened for private ferry service providers at a ceremony held on Thursday.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)’s Managing Director Retired Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Saudi said although the ferry terminal was previously reserved for MTCC ferries and the ferries operating to Cross Roads Maldives, private ferries providing ferry services to the atolls will now have access to the terminal.

The Henveiru Ferry Terminal can accommodate five ferries simultaneously, while the Hulhumale’ Terminal can accommodate three speedboats. While ferries can remain at the docking area for thirty minutes before departure, MTCC will provide a waiting area for passengers.
