Econ Minister highlights avoiding bankruptcy as major achievement
Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has stated that being able to run the country without falling into further debt is a significant achievement.
In an interview with the state media, Minister Saeed said that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu inherited a challenging economic situation when he took Office. The situation is being rectified and the country is now moving forward without going into bankruptcy, he said. The minister said that Maldivian and foreign businesses have also gained confidence in the economy.
The minister, who is temporarily in charge of the Tourism Ministry, said that the government intends to add more tours beds in Haa Alif and Haa Dhaal Atoll this year under efforts to strengthen the tourism sector. He also assured that projects included in this yearβs national budget as well as other industrial projects will be implemented.
