Aasandha services now available in Thailand and UAE
Aasandha services will now be available at empaneled hospitals in Thailand and United Arab Emirates (UAE) starting today, the national health insurance company has announced.
According to Aasandha Company Pvt Ltd, services will be available to patients referred to these hospitals under Article 13 (b) of the Aasandha Scheme regulations, similar to the process for other foreign hospitals currently empaneled.
Patients will be directed to hospitals in Thailand in UAE, with the highest priority given to those enduring kidney issues who are unable to undergo a transplant due to the unavailability of a “first degree donor” (a family member).
“They are those who have not been able to continue treatment due to restrictions in the countries where other empaneled hospitals were located, where kidney donors required to be a first degree donor by their laws and regulations,” Aasandha said.
The next priority group includes patients who have received treatment through centres in the Maldives, India and Sri Lanka on multiple occasions but have seen little improvement in their condition. Aasandha will determine the referral center based on the technical advise of relevant medical professionals.
Aasandha said the expansion of Aasandha services to UAE and Thailand, areas of service will also be expanded in the coming days.
Patients seeking referral to these countries acan continue to apply through the existing procedures. Applications can be submitted online via the Aasandha mobile app or the main Aasandha portal. Applications will also be received by the Vira counters established at hospitals as well as Aasandha front office counters.
