The Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service will be launched in all atolls before the end of this year, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced.
Noting that RTL ferry service has been launched in Raa Atoll before the end of June, as promised, the President said RTL services will similarly be launched in Baa Atoll before the end of July. In addition, ferry services will be expanded to cover all the atolls before the end of this year, he said.
“The pledge to start ferry services in all atolls before the end of this year will also be fulfilled. All necessary work is underway,” he said.
The RTL ferry service in Raa Atoll will be offered free of charge from now until 2 July to give the people of the atoll the opportunity to familiarize with the services.
The RTL ferry service is currently operating in Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu and Shaviyani in Zone 1, Noonu, Raa, and Lhaviyani in Zone 2, Gaafu Alifu and Gaafu Dhaalu in Zone 5 and Fuvahmulah City and Addu City in Zone 6.
