The Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has completed and commissioned the water and sewerage system in Vaadhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.
The commissioning of the water and sewerage system was conducted by MWSC, Fenaka Corporation and Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure.
As part of the project, a facility building for the water plant was established. While the main water network has also been installed, water connections have been connected to the households. Additionally, a water plant has been established, boreholes drilled and reject lines installed. Water tanks have also been installed to store water.
On the sewerage side, sewerage’s main network and pumping line, pumping station and sea outfall have been installed. Junctions have been placed in households and sewerage connections have been connected.
MWSC said the project includes the provision of water analysis equipment and vehicles to operate and maintain the sewerage system.
The Vaadhoo Water and Sewerage project is implemented by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure. The total cost of the project is MVR 60.99 million. The project will ensure clean drinking water and safe sewerage for all residents of Vaadhoo.
