MMC honors journalists Zahir and Moosa with Lifetime Achievement Awards
The Maldives Media Council (MMC) has awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for Journalism to Ahmed Zahir (Fairy Zahir) and Moosa Latheef.
The MMC Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes the services of those who have dedicated several years to advancing journalism in the Maldives.
Moosa Latheef, currently the editor of Dhauru newspaper, has been a recipient of the National Award of Recognition in Journalism, the National Award of Honour, and both the Golden Pen and Diamond Pen awards in journalism. A graduate in journalism from Malaysia, Latheef has held editorial positions at Haveeru and Mihaaru.
Ahmed Zahir, known as Fairy Zahir, has also received the National Award for Recognition and the Golden Pen of Journalism from the MMC. Zahir has held various government roles while writing for Haftha and Aafathis newspapers, and he has served as the editor for publications such as Aafathis, Jama’athuge Khabaru, and Holhuashi.
