Tourist arrivals increase by 9.4 percent
The Maldives has seen a 9.4 percent increase in tourist arrivals so far this year compared to the same period in 2023.
According to the Tourism Ministry, 1.63 million tourists visited the Maldives as of Saturday, an increase of 140,000 tourists compared to the 1.49 million tourists recorded during the same period last year.
China remains the leading tourist source market, with more than 200,000 tourists visiting the Maldives this year.

A total of 1,220 tourist destinations are currently operating in the Maldives. These include 167 resorts, 887 guesthouses, 152 safaris, and 14 hotels. On average, the Maldives currently welcomes 5,447 tourists daily.
