Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal has announced that efforts are underway to establish a hotel school in the Maldives.
The minister said the development of a hotel school is a key initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s tourism sector. Discussions have already started with a hotel school in Switzerland to bring the project to fruition, he added.
The minister said the hotel school would be developed on a separate island. He expressed hope of seeing Maldivians working in managerial positions in the tourism sector.
The minister added that the government is working with the relevant authorities to solve various challenges within the tourism sector.
