Hoandeddhoo Council seeks developers for integrated resort on Kandevaarehaa Island
GDh. Hoandeddhoo Council is seeking a party to develop an integrated tourist resort on GDh. Kandevaarehaa.
Kandevaarehaa, a 4.6 hectare uninhabited island, shares a lagoon with Hoandeddhoo, and lies five minutes from the island via speedboat.
The Hoandeddhoo Island Council has now opened opportunity for local and international parties interested in developing the island as a resort to submit their expressions of interest. While the council has publicized the detailed plans for the resort, the resort is proposed to be developed with beach villas and private pools.
According to the council, the developer will be granted a 30-month period from the date of signing the project agreement to develop the resort. The developer will be granted a 50-year lease on the island as per the Tourism Act.
Interested parties must provide a bid security of US$ 700,000 to the Hoandeddhoo Council Office.
