Immigration Watch receives over 600 reports
The Immigration Watch has received more than 600 reports related to immigration violations.
The Immigration Watch was launched on July 17 this year, serving as a platform for individuals to anonymously report illegal immigrants or those attempting to smuggle into the Maldives.
According to Immigration, 626 cases have been reported to Immigration Watch as of the 10th of this month. Of these, 496 cases are currently being investigated. Immigration said 105 cases are being verified, while 25 reports have been found to be unrelated to immigration matters.
Immigration is conducting a series of operations in an effort to crack down on illegal immigration. So far, 266 locations have been raided and 3,542 foreigners have been deported.
The public can report cases to Immigration Watch 24/7. The platform also allows the uploading of information and photos when submitting a relevant report or issue.
