A young man involved in a dangerous accident that took place on Wednesday night has succumbed to his injuries.
The accident occurred at the junction of Boduthakurufaanu Magu and Koimalaa Hingun in Male’, when a car and a motorcycle collided. Both the car and the motorcycle sustained significant damage from the impact. The victim, Mohamed Leevan from GDH. Gadhdhoo, was rushed to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), where he was placed on a ventilator. He passed away last night.
The accident is part of a concerning rise in road incidents across the city. Earlier on Friday, a speeding sports car struck a motorcycle near Central Park in Hulhumale, leading to the tragic death of the cyclist. Additionally, there were two more serious accidents in Hulhumale — one in the second phase on Saturday morning and another the same night.
